Every election is determined by the people who show up.

Exercise your right to vote.
VOTE INDIA

Avineethini Antham Chese Dhammu Nakundhi, (I have the courage to end corruption)

Prajala Sommu Prajalaki Panche Dhammu Nakundhi, (I have the courage to give people's money to people)

Okka Roopayi Theeskokunda Vote Vese Dhammu Meekundha? (Do you have the courage to vote without taking bribes?)

Imagine a person saying this to us and questioning our sanity. Shall we still wait for the change or just be the change?

Namaste.

Want to live better? Choose your leaders wisely. Voting is your right, so try to do it right.

Voting is a process by which the people select their representatives in a democracy. These representatives act as a voice of the people, and help the government to form laws and initiatives for the betterment of the people.

The 'Right To Vote' is a fundamental or constitutional right in a democratic nation. The ability to vote is not only a right, but a responsibility to ensure your voice is heard exactly and your interests/problems are represented in the Government. It's a step towards equality in view of Article 325 - all citizens are eligible to vote, regardless of race and ethnicity.

Article 325 of Indian Constitution:

There shall be one general electoral roll for every territorial constituency for election to either House of Parliament or to the House or either House of the Legislature of a State and no person shall be ineligible for inclusion in any such roll or claim to be included in any special electoral roll for any such constituency on grounds only of religion, race, caste, sex or any of them.

Voting is the keystone of slogan, "Of the people, for the people, and by the people." In this way, one must cast their vote if one actually wants to participate in building a corruption-free, effective, and a developing nation. Likewise, a leader's must-haves are accountability, transparency, knowledge, judgement, integrity, and a good heart to serve. There are a few Telugu lines that conveys how qualities of a person will make her/him a true leader:

"Janam Mechhe Nayakudavuthavu

Jagam Mechhe Utthamudavuthavu

Prapanchamlo Devudivavuthavu

Ee Bhoommidha Assalu Sissalu Manavudavuthavu."

Translation:

You'll become people's leader,

you'll become the best person,

you'll become a god in this world,

you'll become a true human being in this planet.

Article 326 of Indian Constitution:

The elections to the House of the People and to the Legislative Assembly of every State shall be on the basis of adult suffrage; that is to say, every person who is a citizen of India and who is not less than 18 [eighteen years] of age on such date as may be fixed in that behalf by or under any law made by the appropriate Legislature and is not otherwise disqualified under this Constitution or any law made by the appropriate Legislature on the ground of non-residence, unsoundness of mind, crime or corrupt or illegal practice, shall be entitled to be registered as a voter at any such election.

This means that all Indian citizens who are above the age of 18 years, regardless of their religion, race, caste, or sex, are eligible to participate in the electoral process and exercise their right to vote. This further specifies the eligibility criteria made by an appropriate legislature doesn't allow a person who's non-resident, have mental disabilities, and have corrupt or illegal practice to cast their vote. A voter can vote only once at the constituency where he/she has registered.

How Can You Vote?

In India, all voters who are eligible to take part in the electoral process are required to cast their ballot at the polling booth in person. This is done to ensure that the registered voter exercises his/her vote themselves and it's not impersonated. In special cases, postal ballot privileges are given to Government officials who are on election duty, and to the armed forces posted across the country and overseas.

Voting Rights:

All voters have the right to know about the candidates who are contesting for the elections. This right has been granted to voters under Section 19 of the Indian Constitution. This Section empowers voters to seek information pertaining to the election manifesto of the candidates, their total financial worth as also their criminal record, if any.

Voters also have been granted the right not to vote, which is recorded in the system. Also known as a NOTA (None of the above) vote, the voter participates in the election but chooses not to vote for any of the candidates contesting the elections. Voters who are unable to cast their votes due to physical disability or other such infirmity and can't cast their vote through postal ballot, can take the assistance of an electoral officer, who will record their vote.

"Besides, are we exercising our vote truthfully and choosing the best representative for us?"

"Na Vote Ikkada Ammabadunu" (My vote is for sale)

A voter who is athirst of losing his valuable vote for money and a person who can buy that voter at any cost are the two menaces to this country. Every human is in anyway need of money, but accepting inducements and questioning the country's attitude towards corruption is merely a joke and make us an onset to double-dealing. In our daily lives, we come across numerous corrupted individuals in public/private corporations and even in our houses, disrupting the nation's development and we are actively/passively being part of them, will not make us a true patriotic. Even in the dire need of money, if we doesn't given a chance to setbacks like bribery, then we would have been the part of highly developed countries.

People are even forced by the goons to take bribes in some parts of our country. We should actively participate and pull out these bugs. Let's not sell our votes and characters for some random crap and elect true leaders those who seriously play the part of an Indian.

Promise of pre-election freebies by political parties is a corrupt practice and bribe under the Representation of the People Act. Individuals who are convicted of offenses committed under Section 171E (which deals with bribery) and Section 171F (which deals with personation or undue influence at an election) of the Indian Penal Code are disqualified from participating in elections.

"Anna Deevena" (Brother's blessing)

Not all freebies are manipulating and corrupting, but a few are providing welfare to the people undeniably. However, instead of a manifesto solely concentrating freebies, focusing on the development could lead to a progressing nation. The objective of subsidy is to bolster the welfare of society, but not for undermining development. Subsidies to individuals/groups will always play a key role, rather, giving them resources and opportunities to learn & earn will be more prominent in shaping a good future.

"Mana Kulam - Mana Matham" (Our Caste - Our Religion)

These days votes lean on religion/caste. Scores of voters still follow politicians concerning to similar religious beliefs and voting them accordingly. Those are dumb enough to pick fights with other people. Those visually impaired people support their politicians at any cost, regardless of their criminal backgrounds. It is 'cast your vote' but not 'vote for your caste.'

"A for Abhivrudhi" (Development comes first)

Abhivrudhi comes with first letter 'A', but it doesn't paved a way in many states. Political parties are not interested in showing development even in their manifesto, thanks to freebies. People of our nation really need a true leader who can change our lives for betterment.

"Nee **%$#@**" (Beeps)

Politicians who are especially elected to abuse/accuse other leaders for their personal agendas, should be imprisoned. For god's sake, there are already questionable number of prisoners thrown out of jails without any proper punishments. They say they respect women, but they abuse anyone by pulling out the other's wives and mothers. Elect a deep leader, not a beep politician.

"Dabbai Yella Swatantra Bharatam Lo Antaranithanam" (Untouchability after 70 years of Independence)

So called politicians only love their constituency/parliament people just before elections. They still ask for votes of minority people but abandon them after. Those cheap politicians don't even lay their hand on them, yet they will show their wierd smiles for votes. Beware of this fake lovers around you.

VOTE for a leader who does both welfare and development.

VOTE for a leader who is unconditional to us.

VOTE for a leader who is loyal to us.

VOTE for a leader who helped the poor with money from his own pockets.

VOTE for a leader who don't do religious/caste politics.

VOTE for a leader who don't abuse/accuse others for his/her personal interests.

VOTE for a leader who don't have a criminal background.

VOTE for a leader who don't give reasons to confront us.

VOTE for a leader who is not corrupted.

VOTE for a leader who don't buy your vote with bribery.

VOTE FOR A TRUE LEADER.

PS: Above all, please 'cast your vote' wherever you are. Every single vote is equally important for our prosperity.

Let’s all come forward to bring a positive change to the nation. May the best leader win!

Jai Hind.
